At Performance Medicine, we understand that losing weight is the easy part. Keeping the weight off is what’s difficult. That is why we say “Weight Management Program”, because it is something that needs to be managed on a daily basis. There are many different ways to lose weight and keep it off, and the ones we use are unique to the individual patient. Everyone is a little different. Some patients have trouble keeping weight off because of a traumatic event that occurred recently or even in past years. When you are constantly stressed it is extremely difficult to keep weight off. Some patients have a metabolic disorder. We use our Boston Heart Panel to determine the metabolic state of a patient, which can have a direct impact on the struggle to keep weight off. Nutritional deficiencies and lack of exercise are obvious problems, but with our weight management program we look at WHY your aren’t doing what you need to be doing. The why can directly affect how we treat you. Because of this, listening to you is the most important part of any of our programs, especially weight management. Holding your hand every step of the way is how we can help you the most. Hormones, for many of our patients, are a big part of the why when it comes to the struggle to lose weight and keep weight off. Particularly the hormones insulin, thyroid and cortisol. They are very interactive with each other, and if one of them is off, the others won’t work as well. Once a patient reaches a certain age, we also check the individual male and female hormones. Balancing hormones using bio-identical hormone replacement is a great avenue to take as you age and keeping weight off becomes more and more difficult.
Medically Supervised Weight loss
As you can see, our weight management program is carefully designed by Dr. Rogers and tailored to your unique needs. There are many ways to lose weight, and most diets are successful when you stick to them. Holding yourself accountable and accepting the fact that it is a journey is what helps people keep it out. There is so much to look at when it comes to weight loss and gain. We look at everything. At Performance Medicine we believe in the saying “it takes a village” for someone to lose weight and successfully keep it off. Everyday we aim to be that village for each of our patients. It is not easy. But nothing worthwhile ever is. Living a long and healthy life is worth it. We want to help you get there.
