Morning everyone!

Welcome to another edition of the Doctor’s Note where we talk about what’s on our minds when it comes to your health.

I’m excited this week to talk about the launching of my new vitamin supplements, a project I’ve been working on for quite some time. If you consume any of my content, you know that I’m a huge believer in supplementing. Needless to say, I take A LOT OF VITAMINS!

My History with Vitamins

It seems like we’re always seeing something on the news that says “vitamins don’t work”. I used to think the same thing. Twenty five years ago, in my practice as a family doctor, I would sometimes see people I’d call “vitamin-aholics”. Looking at their long list of supplements I would tell them that they’re just wasting their money.

Fast forward twenty five years later, I don’t think I could have been more wrong. These people I used to make fun of are now some of the healthiest older people that I know. I’m a huge believer in taking supplements. I think they keep you healthy. I think they keep your immune system functioning. And without a doubt, you can’t get enough vitamins through your food. I wish you could, but in my opinion, you just can’t.

We’ve all seen studies that say Vitamin D doesn’t help, or Omega 3’s don’t help. Usually the amounts in these studies are so LOW that yes, it probably wouldn’t help, but there’s a lot of fallacy in that regard. The RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of vitamins are amounts that may prevent rickets or scurvy, but you want vitamins that will help you in other ways, such as prevention of age related diseases that we so often talk about. You’re not going to see a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial on vitamins like you would on prescription medications because they’re not going to put millions (sometimes billions) of dollars into research trying to get it approved by the FDA.

I’m a vitamin taker. I think everyone should take vitamins. Look at Vitamin D and what that did to help treat and even prevent Covid. People who had high levels of Vitamin D did so much better when they got Covid. In my opinion, we didn’t preach this enough. These are safe supplements. They work. Have you ever heard of a person dying of a vitamin overdose? I don’t think I have, and if there has been, it would have to be something really bizarre.

Combining the BEST Vitamins in LESS Capsules

Because I take a lot of vitamins, once a month I organize them all in a fishing tackle box. One day I got so frustrated taking them one by one that I decided to combine them, put them in a blender and make a smoothie. Big mistake! It was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted! BUT it did lead me to a new adventure, formulating my own brand of vitamins. It took a while, but in a nutshell this was the process:

STEP 1: I picked out my favorite vitamins, decided what milligrams were best and then combined them into TYPES: MULTI, IMMUNE, ENERGY and STRESS.

STEP 2: I found a compounding pharmacy in Oregon called Freedom to Formulate and had them white label my formulations. These guys were awesome to work with!

STEP 3: I put my line of vitamins in all of the PM offices.

Here is the breakdown of each vitamin formulation.

Doctor Rogers’ Super Vitamin

The guys at Freedom To Formulate were blown away by how much stuff I packed into this multivitamin. We decided to name it Doctor Rogers’ Super Vitamin for that reason.

This is my version of a multivitamin. It’s a powerhouse!

  • Vitamin A (3000 mcg)
  • Vitamin C (1000 mg)
  • Vitamin D (5000 IU)
  • Vitamin E (67 mg)
  • Thiamine (100 mg)
  • Niacin (100 mg)
  • B6 (100 mg)
  • Folate (1700 mcg DFE)
  • Methyl B12 (1000 mcg)
  • Calcium (130 mg)
  • Iodine (100 mcg)
  • Zinc (30 mg)
  • Selenium (200 mcg)
  • Copper (1.5 mg)
  • Manganese (4 mg)
  • Chromium (200 mcg)
  • K2 as MK7 (180 mcg)
  • Boron (6000 mcg)
  • Lycopene (1000 mcg)
  • Horsetail (20 mg)

Note: In this one capsule I have the doses that will actually do you some good.

Doctor Rogers’ Energy Complex

We all want more energy. As I’ve said many times, most people come to the doctor for one of two reasons: they’re either tired or they’re hurting. When we talk about energy what we’re talking about is mitochondrial health.

The two things that I think are essential for energy, especially as you age, are CoQ10 and PQQ. I previously took these separately, and now with this formulation I have them grouped together in the right doses.

  • CoQ10 (100 mg)
  • PQQ (20 mg)

Note: PQQ helps the body produce more mitochondria. CoQ10 helps the mitochondria produce more ATP (the source of energy).

Doctor Rogers’ Stress Formula

A lot of people are stressed out and don’t sleep well. Our stress formula is unique because in addition to a few other things, it has Ashwagandha, which I think is the most effective adrenal adaptogen. It also has L-Theanine, which takes aways the mind chatter and helps you relax (especially at night). Also, included is one of my all time favorite supplements, Saffron.

  • Ashwagandha (125 mg)
  • L-Theanine (100 mg)
  • Saffron (88.5 mg)

Note: I put so many people on Saffron. It calms you down, and even curbs sugar cravings which helps with weight loss. It works as an antidepressant. I think it’s more effective than the SSRIs (Prozac and Zoloft) for depression, as well as anxiety.

Doctor Rogers’ Immune Complex

With Covid we all started thinking more about our immune system and how to strengthen it. Our immune system should be able to fight off things like colds, sinus infections, and even something like Covid. You want to take care of your immune system. Remember, getting sick is just part of life.

The Immune Complex has adequate (high) doses of:

  • Vitamin C (1000 mg)
  • Vitamin D (5000 IU)
  • Vitamin K2 as MK7 (180 mcg)
  • Methylfolate (1700 mcg DFE)
  • Methyl B12 (1000 mcg)
  • Zinc (30 mg)
  • Quercetin (500 mg)
  • NAC (400 mg)

These are all powerhouses to help take care of your immune system.

Note: 80% of your immune system is located in your gut, so taking care of your gut health is so important. That’s why I love a product like DigestShield.

Choosing What’s Right For You

As you can see a lot of what’s in the Immune Complex is also in the Super Vitamin. People who don’t think they need to take the Super Vitamin might want to just take the Immune Complex. What I think most should do is take the Super Vitamin, and then add the Immune Complex if you’re feeling run down or sick.

These all are powerhouse vitamins. They’re all natural supplements that are plant based, made with the best ingredients, and have no artificial ingredients (like most vitamins do). So they are very safe.

These vitamin formulations are meant to help you be healthy, energetic, and protected. If you’re a big vitamin taker like myself, I think in the long run it will save you money plus keep you from trying the blender!!!

I’m really excited about my new formulations. I hope they will encourage people to take vitamins.
