If you boost your immune system, you don’t have as many worries for catching these viruses that go around. There’s also many other benefits of having a strong immune system like protecting you from cancer, heart disease, gut disease and diabetes.
Is the fear of the coronavirus over hyped?
Many of you have asked me this in the office. The media has certainly gotten a hold of this coronavirus, and maybe it is a bit over hyped. But the truth is, you can’t underestimate it either. You have to be ready.
A Focus On Prevention: Boost Your Immune System
What you need to focus on is how you can get ready to prevent catching things, especially from other people.
As you know, the people who are dying from these viruses are people with weakened immune systems. Mostly older people. That’s why we’re going to be talking about prevention.
If you were getting ready to run a marathon, would you not prepare for it? The same thing goes for your health and preventing catching these viruses and even bacterial infections.
I’m a Medical Doctor, but I also believe in natural medicine. It always starts with eating right, avoiding sugars, and getting a good night’s sleep.
There’s other basic things you can do as well. I always bring hand sanitizer everywhere I go for example.
I try not to touch the door knobs of public doors by using paper towels or something like that. I also try not to touch my face.
What you’re trying to avoid is touching something called a fomite, which is a germ living on a surface, and put it on your eyes, nose or mouth. These fomites can live for days unless they get disinfected with something like Lysol.
There’s also a lot of supplements you can take to help ward off germs and keep your immune system top notch.
Here are some supplements for your immune system I recommend:
You definitely want to optimize your Vitamin D. Optimizing your Vitamin D means taking at least 5,000-10,000 units per day.
Vitamin C. I usually take 1-2 grams of C per day, and right now I’m taking two.
A good quality Multivitamin.
Omega 3’s.
A good Probiotic, which are germ fighters.
I’m a big fan of medicinal mushrooms. Specifically Cordyceps and Reishi are the ones I like.
L-Lysine
Colloidal Silver. This is very underestimated, but I always keep them around. Silver is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral.
Manuka honey
Zinc
Elderberry
If you do get sick, especially with a fever, please don’t go to work and spread it.
Who knows what’s going to happen with the coronavirus, but we do know that it’s more contagious than the flu and we need to be prepared for it regardless.
The bottom line is don’t get freaked out by the coronavirus. Simply take these protective steps you should be doing anyways.
